Privacy Policy

Overview

CHESS/RUPT minimizes data collection. Core gameplay, settings, progress, and local launch diagnostics stay on your device unless you choose to use Apple services, make a purchase, or contact support. CHESS/RUPT does not display advertising and does not use tracking, attribution, advertising identifiers, a player-account backend, cloud saves, or remote crash reporting.

CHESS/RUPT is operated by Ankur Gupta LLC, a United States limited liability company ("CHESS/RUPT," "we," or "us"). For personal information that CHESS/RUPT controls, Ankur Gupta LLC is the controller or responsible business. Privacy inquiries can be sent to support@ankgupta.com.

While Apple's developer-account conversion is pending, the App Store may identify Ankur Gupta personally as the seller of record. Ankur Gupta LLC remains the operator of CHESS/RUPT and the controller or responsible business for personal information controlled by the game.

Chessrupt may be stylized as “CHESS/RUPT” in the app, App Store, website, and marketing materials. Both forms identify the same game and operator.

Information Stored On Your Device

CHESS/RUPT stores gameplay settings and progress locally, including sound, music, haptics, language, modifiers, Daily Challenge state, Daily Puzzle state, puzzle progress, earned customization state, and purchase-entitlement state made available by Apple. The app may also store basic local launch diagnostics such as app version and suspected unclean-exit counts. CHESS/RUPT does not receive these local records automatically. If you tap Copy Diagnostics, the app places a support summary on the clipboard so you can decide whether to send it.

RevenueCat Purchase Processing

CHESS/RUPT uses RevenueCat, Inc. as a service provider to validate purchases, restore access, prevent purchase fraud, and operate Unlimited Plays. When RevenueCat is configured, its SDK creates an anonymous app user identifier and processes purchase history, transaction and entitlement information, and limited technical information such as device type, operating-system and app versions, locale, currency, and the IP address used to make a network request. RevenueCat may use purchase history for service analytics and app functionality. CHESS/RUPT does not send RevenueCat your name, email address, a developer-created account ID, advertising identifier, contacts, precise location, or gameplay history.

RevenueCat processes this information under its Privacy Policy. Purchase history is not used by CHESS/RUPT or RevenueCat to track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising.

LLM-Assisted Translation

CHESS/RUPT uses large language model tools to help translate app, App Store, and website copy. Translation prompts contain the product text being translated, not gameplay records, device identifiers, payment information, support messages, or other personal information from players. Machine-assisted translations may be reviewed and corrected before publication. The English legal pages are the authoritative versions if a translated description differs.

Apple Services

Game Center is optional. If you use it, Apple processes authentication, leaderboard, achievement, and related information under Apple's policies. Purchases and entitlement restoration are processed by Apple's App Store and StoreKit systems. CHESS/RUPT does not receive your payment-card details. Apple controls retention and deletion for information held in those services. You can review Apple's Privacy Policy and use Apple's privacy portal for Apple-held data.

Unlimited Plays

Everyone receives three new plays each day across Free Play, Crown Trials, and Puzzle Mode; Daily Challenge and Daily Puzzle remain free. The optional one-time Unlimited Plays purchase removes the daily play limit from Free Play, Crown Trials, and Puzzle Mode while the Unlimited Plays entitlement is active. It does not remove advertising because CHESS/RUPT does not display advertising.

Local Notifications

If you enable notifications, CHESS/RUPT schedules reminders on your device. CHESS/RUPT does not operate a push-token server and does not receive your notification permission status.

Support Messages

If you email support, CHESS/RUPT receives the address and information you choose to include. Support messages are used to respond, investigate issues, keep necessary business records, and protect the app. Do not send sensitive personal information. You may ask CHESS/RUPT to delete a support message unless it must be retained for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.

Sharing, Service Providers, And Protection

CHESS/RUPT shares app-originated information only through the Apple and RevenueCat services described above or when you intentionally contact support. CHESS/RUPT selects service providers whose published terms and privacy commitments require protections appropriate to the service, and reviews material SDK and policy changes before release. CHESS/RUPT does not provide your local gameplay history to data brokers.

Purposes And Legal Bases

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, CHESS/RUPT relies on performance of the app and purchase contract for gameplay and entitlements and legitimate interests in app security, fraud prevention, support, service analytics, and reliable operation.

Retention And Deletion

Local CHESS/RUPT data remains on the device until you reset it through available app or system controls, delete the app, or the operating system removes it. Deleting the app removes CHESS/RUPT's local app data, subject to Apple's normal backup and restoration behavior. CHESS/RUPT does not maintain a server account or server-side gameplay profile. RevenueCat maintains an anonymous purchase record for entitlement and fraud-prevention purposes. Apple and RevenueCat control retention for data they process under their respective policies. Email support for help with a request involving CHESS/RUPT's RevenueCat customer record; requests concerning Apple services should use Apple's privacy controls and request channels.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent for personal information CHESS/RUPT controls. Because CHESS/RUPT has no player account or server gameplay profile, it may hold no directly identifying app record to you. Email support@ankgupta.com for help. CHESS/RUPT will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights. Requests about Apple-controlled data must be directed to Apple. If you are in the EEA or United Kingdom, you may also lodge a complaint with the data-protection supervisory authority where you live or work.

Children

CHESS/RUPT is a general-audience game and is not specifically directed to children. It does not knowingly operate child profiles or collect names, birth dates, or contact details from players inside the app. Parents and guardians should supervise device, Game Center, and purchase settings. If you believe a child sent personal information to support, contact CHESS/RUPT so it can be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.

International Processing And Security

Apple, RevenueCat, and email providers may process information in countries other than your own under their own legal safeguards. CHESS/RUPT uses platform security controls and data-minimization practices, but no storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.

Website Analytics, Cookies, and Forms

The separate ankgupta.com portfolio site uses Google Analytics 4 only after a visitor explicitly chooses Accept in its consent banner. Analytics are denied by default, advertising storage remains disabled, and the site does not send names, email addresses, form contents, or other user-entered text to Google Analytics. Declining leaves the site usable. See the full website notice at ankgupta.com/privacy for the data categories, withdrawal controls, and applicable privacy-rights contact. Normal web-hosting logs may also be processed by the hosting provider for delivery and security.

Changes To This Policy

CHESS/RUPT may update this policy when the app, providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be reflected here before the related feature is released where practicable.
