CHESS/BLOCK Terms of Use

Agreement
These Terms govern your use of CHESS/BLOCK, provided by Ankur Gupta LLC. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms and Apple’s applicable terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
What the app does
CHESS/BLOCK uses Apple Screen Time frameworks to pause apps you select and lets you earn access time through chess lessons and puzzles. Screen Time controls can be unavailable, delayed, changed, or bypassed through system or device-management settings. The app does not lock your device and does not promise an impossible-to-bypass restriction.
Subscriptions and free trials
If you purchase an auto-renewable subscription, the price, billing period, trial eligibility, and included features are shown before confirmation. Payment is charged to your Apple Account. A free trial, when offered by Apple for your account, converts to the displayed paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage or cancel in iPhone Settings under your Apple Account subscriptions and restore eligible purchases in the app. Apple handles billing, refunds, and subscription administration.
Chess content and results
Puzzles are for practice and entertainment. Ratings, projections, streaks, and improvement estimates are approximate and do not guarantee a particular chess result. You are responsible for moves or results submitted through an optional third-party chess integration.
Third-party services
Optional Lichess and Chess.com features are governed by those services’ terms and policies. Apple’s Screen Time and StoreKit services are governed by Apple. CHESS/BLOCK is not sponsored or endorsed by Lichess or Chess.com.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse the app, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, violate another service’s terms, or use the app unlawfully. You may not copy, resell, or redistribute the app except as permitted by law or Apple’s rules.
Availability and changes
We may update, suspend, or discontinue features to maintain security, reliability, legal compliance, or product quality. Device settings, operating-system updates, provider outages, and permission changes may affect availability.
Disclaimers and liability
To the extent permitted by law, the app is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties beyond those that cannot be excluded. Ankur Gupta LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the app. Nothing in these Terms limits rights or remedies that cannot legally be limited.
Termination
You may stop using the app at any time. We may restrict access for material misuse or when required by law. Subscription cancellation and deletion of the app are separate actions.
Governing law and contact
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to Ankur Gupta LLC, without overriding mandatory consumer protections where you live. Questions: support@ankgupta.com.
